The color itself
We color with Artègo, a professional European ammonia-free line formulated with up to 99% organic and natural ingredients depending on the service and the specific formula — several of those formulas carry ECOCERT and COSMOS Organic certification. It is what we mix for permanent color, gray coverage, gloss, toner and root work.
The lightener is ammonia-free as well, which is the part most salons cannot say. Ours is made with kukui nut butter and lavender — the kukui holds moisture in the hair while it lifts, so it comes out silkier than lightener usually does. That means a highlight, balayage or blonding appointment here is ammonia-free from start to finish.
Ammonia-free is a statement about one ingredient. It does not mean chemical-free, non-toxic or damage-free, and there is no certified organic standard for professional hair color, so no salon holds one. Exactly what the word covers →
