Sea turtles are a fairly convincing argument.

There are local places you know because they are useful.

And then there are places that tell you something about where you live.

Loggerhead Marinelife Center belongs in the second category.

The Juno Beach nonprofit focuses on ocean and sea-turtle conservation and rehabilitation. Visitors can explore the exhibits and see sea-turtle patients while learning about the work happening along this stretch of Florida coastline.

General admission is free, and the center is currently open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why it is on the Edit

Because if someone is visiting Juno and asks what is actually specific to the area, this is an easy answer.

It is not an interchangeable attraction that could have been dropped into any Florida town. The center is tied directly to the ocean, the turtles nesting along this coast and the conservation work happening here.

It also works without turning the day into an undertaking. Spend some time at Loggerhead, walk toward the beach, or combine it with Juno Dunes if everyone still has energy.
