Highlights · Juno Beach, Florida

Highlights.

Foils, placed deliberately. Full or partial, face-framing or a money piece — highlights are the technique when you want brightness in an exact place and you want it to reach the root.

Foils placed through the upper sections at Touchée Organic Salon, Juno Beach

Full or partial

Partial highlights, from $200, about 2 hr 30. Half the head lightened, usually placed around the face and through the top where it shows. The right choice when you want brightness where people see it without paying for hair that lives under other hair.

Full highlights, from $300, about 3 hr 30. Foils through the whole head for an all-over lighter result, finished with a gloss. The right choice when you wear your hair up, part it differently, or want the brightness to hold when the wind moves it.

Face framing and the money piece

A money piece is brightness concentrated at the front. In 2026 the change is not whether to have one — it is what happens behind it. Instead of two bright pieces that stop abruptly, the brightest work starts at the face and blends progressively back into the rest of the color.

You still get the frame. It just does not look stuck on. Ask for the front to have impact and the color behind it to become gradually more blended.

Highlights or balayage?

This is the question we answer most often, and the honest answer is that they do different jobs.

Foils get closer to the root and give precise, repeatable placement — better for gray integration, better when you want a specific brightness in a specific place, better when the result has to be consistent visit to visit. Balayage is hand-painted for a softer grow-out with no hard line, which usually means longer between appointments but less precision at the root.

Plenty of heads have both. Foils through the top and around the face where precision matters, painted work through the lengths where softness does.

Gray in the mix

Highlights are one of the most useful tools for gray that you do not want fully covered. Placed well, foils blend gray into brightness so the regrowth reads as dimension rather than a line. Whether that beats full coverage depends on how much gray you have and how you feel about seeing it — both answers are legitimate and we do not treat one as more evolved.

Maintenance, honestly

Partial or full, foils reach the root, so regrowth becomes visible sooner than with painted work. Four to eight weeks depending on your natural base and how bright you have gone. A gloss at $65 between appointments corrects tone, takes brass out of Florida water and buys weeks of shine — the cheapest thing on the menu and often the one that fixes it.

Questions

How much are highlights in Juno Beach?

Partial highlights start at $200 and take about two and a half hours. Full highlights start at $300 and take about three and a half hours, finished with a gloss. Final price depends on length, density and how far your hair has to travel, which is why we quote before we begin rather than after.

Partial or full highlights — which do I need?

Partial covers roughly half the head, usually around the face and through the top. It works if you wear your hair down and parted the same way. Full covers the whole head and holds up when you wear it up, part it differently, or want brightness that survives movement.

Are highlights or balayage better?

Neither is better; they solve different problems. Highlights give precise placement and reach the root, so they suit gray integration and results that must repeat exactly. Balayage grows out softer with no hard line, so it suits longer gaps between appointments. Many clients have both in the same head.

How often do highlights need doing?

Usually four to eight weeks, depending on your natural base and how much lighter you have gone. A gloss between full appointments corrects tone and extends the result.

Can highlights cover gray?

They can blend it very effectively, which for many people is better than covering it. Foils place brightness so gray reads as dimension rather than regrowth. If you want gray gone entirely rather than blended, single process coverage from $95 is the more direct answer.
