Changing salons is a small act of risk. Here is exactly what happens, so there are no surprises in the chair.
1. Book the consultation
If you are new and you want colour, choose the consultation option when you book. It costs you a short appointment and it removes almost all of the risk from the first colour service.
2. We look at your hair before we plan anything
Condition, porosity, how much gray and where it sits, what has been on the hair before, how it behaves when you dry it yourself. Then the part most salons rush: what your week actually looks like. Travel, pool, tennis, how often you wash, whether you will genuinely use a purple shampoo or whether it will sit under the sink.
3. You get a plan
Not just the first appointment — the maintenance rhythm, and how often you would realistically be back. If the honest answer is that the look you brought in requires a visit every four weeks and you want to come every twelve, we will say so, and then we will design something that works at twelve.
4. The formula is written down
So visit two starts where visit one ended, and so nothing has to be guessed at twice.

A lot of our clients arrived from New York, Connecticut, Boston or California and were quietly dreading the search. Before you come in
What happens at a first colour appointment?
We start with a consultation: your hair's history, its current condition, what you want and what your maintenance schedule realistically looks like. Then we agree the plan and the price before anything is mixed.
How long should I allow?
A consultation alone is short. A first colour appointment usually runs between two and three and a half hours depending on length, density and whether you are correcting previous colour. We will tell you before you arrive.
What should I bring?
Photos of colour you like and colour you disliked are both useful — the second is often more useful. If you know what has been on your hair in the last year, including box colour or henna, tell us. It changes the chemistry.
What if I have box dye or a previous colour I want removed?
Say so when you book and choose the consultation. Correction work is planned, sometimes across more than one appointment, and it is not something to start blind on a Saturday morning.
Do you take walk-ins?
Colour is by appointment. Call the salon and we will tell you honestly what is available.
